Response to Compact consultation - See Herefordshire Third Sector Board response here!

This is the response to the consultation on the draft Herefordshire Compact from the Herefordshire Third Sector Board (HTSB). The HTSB would like to thank everyone that contributed to this important consultation. The response has been drawn up using evidence from an online questionnaire that was circulated to all third sector organisations currently included on the databases of HTSB board members including the support services organisations. Evidence from responses sent directly to the HTSB secretariat and from an event held in Hereford on September 6th 2011 is also included. General Comments 1.1 The renewal of the local Compact is timely. The relationship between Third Sector organisations and the public sector is changing. The emphasis on local delivery of services and decreasing state provision increases the expectations placed on community and voluntary organisations. At the same time limited resources increases pressure to cut costs and can test the strongest of partnership arrangements. If we are going to meet the challenges ahead it is imperative that the spirit of co-operation is alive and well both within and across the sectors working for the public good.
