Herefordshire Voluntary Action (HVA), the charity which supports voluntary and community groups in the county, has just been awarded the prestigious Quality Award from the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action. This accolade recognises excellence across all of HVA’s wide range of services. One of these services is Herefordshire Volunteer Centre which recently gained its own quality accreditation award from Volunteering England. The Volunteer Centre is one of only a few of the 350 around the country to have gained full marks in the rigorous examination.

‘The staff, trustees and volunteers of HVA are absolutely thrilled with both awards,’ commented Angela Legg Deputy Chief Executive of HVA. ‘Everyone works so hard to deliver a professional service even though at times we are short of funding, so it’s brilliant to be recognised by these national bodies.’

And the celebrations don’t stop there. Megan Bennett the Vice Chair of HVA was awarded an MBE in June in the Queens’ Birthday Honours List for 65 years of volunteering.
