Eastern Europe says Thank You!

Operation Christmas Child is one of the UK’s leading annual children’s charity projects, and in November of 2010 the people of Hereford and its surrounds donated over 12,000 gift filled shoeboxes for needy children in the Ukraine and Bosnia.

This year, any boxes collected in Hereford will be travelling even further to the children of Belarus . On the evening of June 7th, as part of the Herefordshire Volunteering Week the Campaign coordinator from Belarus, Nicolai, will be speaking in the main building at the Hereford Baptist Church on Commercial Road. Doors will open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start and entry is free.

People will be able to hear about what happens to a shoebox once it has been collected in this country and how Operation Christmas Child and other Samaritans Purse projects are changing the lives of thousands across the world. This is a wonderful opportunity to listen to someone who really does work on the front line of the war against poverty and hear how even the smallest of acts here can make an enormous difference there.
