New infrastructure organisation appoints its Chief Officer
The Shadow Board of Trustees of HVOSS (Herefordshire Voluntary Organisations Support Service) is delighted to announce the appointment of the Chief Executive of the new organisation.
Will Lindesay, currently Chief Officer of HVA, was the successful candidate selected by the Trustees last Friday. Jacqui Bremner, Shadow Board Member and Trustee of The Alliance announced the appointment today and said "The selection panel were unanimous in their decision and very pleased that Will, who brings a wealth of experience to the role from his post with HVA, will be involved in shaping the new organisation and taking it forward".
With a target date for the new organisation to be in place on 1st April 2012, Will expects to work closely with the Shadow Board to implement the details set out by the project management board over the past 9 months.
The 3 organisations that will close and which currently provide the bulk of infrastructure support to the voluntary and community sector in Herefordshire are The Alliance, Herefordshire Voluntary Action and Herefordshire Council for Voluntary Youth Services. In future, services will be provided by HVOSS and Trustees have listened carefully to the views of the sector which made it clear that rationalisation and the provision of a more streamlined service would be of benefit. The timing has coincided with the budgetary challenges faced by all organisations and means that HVOSS will be well placed to provide a quality support service to the sector. The Shadow Board of Trustees are overseeing the transition and appointment of Trustees to the new organisation to ensure good governance is in place going forward.
