Membership
Joining us as a member brings a number of important benefits – including the right to stand for membership of our Board of Trustees and the right to vote on decisions taken at our Annual General Meeting.
Our services, activities, events and publications are available to any voluntary and community organisation in our areas of Herefordshire, and we try as far as possible to keep these free of charge or very low cost.
Membership Benefits:
Online Information –Member Services
We have a member’s section within our website which gives free access for members to resources and publications, toolkits, standard policies and procedures.
Charity builder UK (CBUK)
If you are a member of HVA you can access all CBUK services including the interactive services supplied by beprofessional.com . Interactive services include:
● Health & Safety procedures and policies
● Employing staff, including contract writing
● Human resources and record keeping
● Legal e-alerts, updating you on legislative changes
Events – Reduced Rates for Attending Our Events
Most of our events are free to voluntary and community groups in Herefordshire but sometimes our funding requires that we raise a small charge. This is usually reduced for our members.
Staying Up to Date
As a member you’ll be on our mailing list for the latest news and updates in your area of interest, invitations to events, etc. Being on our membership database also means (if you give your permission) that we can share information about your work with others who might have an interest in what you do.
Raising Your Profile
Our quarterly newsletter, “HVA News” has a circulation of 1,200. We have introduced a new Members’ Page – giving members the opportunity to submit articles that profile their work and achievements free of charge. We also have a website www.herefordshireva.org and a fortnightly e-newsletter that you can use to publicise your group and your events.
Joining with us to Create a Stronger ‘Voice’ For the Sector
We are often approached to canvas the views of our members on important policy and strategic issues at both a local and national level, or with requests to participate in new research or consultation projects. Being a member gives you the opportunity to take part in this work and have your voice heard.
