Mappa Mundi & Library Exhibition re-opens
The Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition at Hereford Cathedral re-opened last week after an extensive re-design and re-fit.
The new exhibition is being very well received by visitors, and people are appreciating being able to get so much closer to the Mappa, and seeing it so much better lit than before. One feature of the new arrangements is the launching of an annual season ticket (£15 adult) – particularly useful for those who want to bring visitors to see it and who previously had to pay for themselves each time; also for those who often use the cafe and who will now be able to wander in if they feel like it.
The exhibition is open daily (Monday – Saturday) 10 am – 5 pm, along with the Cathedral Shop and Cloister Cafe.
The exhibition has been funded by the Mappa Mundi Trust, Heritage lottery Fund, The Pilgrim Trust and the Robert Gavron Charitable Trust
