Funding Available for Youth Involvement Projects
The Youth Funding Panel who manage the Youth Opportunity and Capital Funds have some money left for another round of funding.
The deadline for applications is January 10th 5.00pm. But please get applications in as soon as they are ready!
The aim of the funds is to give a voice and influence to young people (13-19 yrs), particularly disadvantaged young people. This will be achieved by supporting projects that will give young people things to do and places to go, in line with the Every Child Matters five outcomes of; staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, economic well-being and making a positive contribution.
IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFO- PLEASE NOTE:
The main part of the money left is for CAPITAL projects. We won't be able to fund many Opportunity projects for this round.
All money granted has to be spent by March 31st 2008.
We will be looking for and supporting projects that CLEARLY DEMONSTRATE youth involvement:
So it needs to show us- How young people have generated the ideas, developed the project and written the bid and how they will continue to be involved. We don't want to see applications made by adults with a young persons signature on the end!! It has to be young peoples ideas (supported by adults).
We will also be looking for projects that show how they will benefit others- not just the applicant group.
Additionally, applications from new groups and projects may be given priority over groups that have applied before.
The application form and guidance notes enclosed can also be downloaded from www.herefordshireyouthcouncil.co.uk
