Free Energy Saving Bulbs for Charities to distribute

Grass Roots,a large multi national company are working with EDF to deliver energy saving measures to the charity sector. They are already working with many UK charities including Citizens Advice Bureau, Mind, The Royal British Legion, the Forum of Mobility Centres, the Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul, The Princess Royal Carers, Friends of the Elderly, the Family Fund, Anchor, many community centres, to name but a few.

What is the Energy Efficiency Scheme?
Grass Roots are working with EDF to deliver energy saving measures to the charity sector. As part of this we can post to the charity 2 low energy light bulbs to be given to every qualified person* (see below for criteria). These light bulbs could save the beneficiary up to £13 a year on their electricity bill (based on replacing two 60W traditional light bulbs used for an average of 4 hours per day and an electricity cost of 9.59p/kWh (inc VAT).

What are the charges?
There are no charges or costs to either the charity or their beneficiaries in this initiative. The bulbs are posted free of charge to the charity address or any other address you may wish to send them to.

Will Grass Roots guarantee that our database will be protected?

Yes. Grass Roots are registered as required by the Data Protection Act 1998. We only retain Personal Data for as long as is reasonably necessary for the proper provision of services.

Are there any benefits to the charity?
Yes, we will donate 5p per set (=2 bulbs) directly to the charity who has ordered the bulbs.

Can the charity hold a supply of these light bulbs in stock for beneficiaries?
Yes, if the charity has potential beneficiaries dropping into their offices.

All you need to do is confirm your interest; we will then ask you to complete a signed declaration form (CERT) as attached stating your delivery address -if applicable, the number of light bulbs you require, confirm that you will only hand out two light bulbs to beneficiaries who are in receipt of any of the benefits or tax credits listed below* and also confirm the percentage of customers you expect to be in receipt of these benefits (95%).
