The Herefordshire Supported Housing For Young People Project (SHYPP) aims to provide an integrated approach to meeting the housing, training and employment needs of young people through the provision of housing, outreach support work, a ‘Nightstop’ project
and preventative education.


We are now looking to appoint a:
Full time (36 ¼ hours) – Fixed Term until end Jan 2011
Duty / Crisis Worker
Salary CIRCA £19,158


This post will offer the candidate an opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s lives. You will be part of the Duty and Crisis team and managed by the Duty / Crisis Coordinator. Working with young people between the ages of 16-25 who are in crisis and may be homeless will be both challenging and rewarding.

The successful candidate will be:

• Highly self motivated
• Able to provide effective, empathic support to vulnerable young people
• Ability to resolve housing crisis situations
• Able to negotiate with various agencies and be an advocate for young people.
