- Volunteering services (such as recruitment and good practice)
- Partnership work
- Representation and 'voice'
- Service to individuals in the community
1. Services and support
We can offer information, resources, guidance, facilities, knowledge, people and skills to help groups achieve their aims
2. Liaison
We are an independent contact point for individuals, groups and other agencies
3. Representation
We support an effective 'voice' for the local voluntary and community sector. We aim to influence local, regional and national level regarding issues effecting local communities particularly needs in rural communities.
4. Development
Where appropriate and we are best place to do so, HVA delivers direct community services e.g. we host 'Community Wheels', a community transport scheme
5. Partnership
We collaborate with a wide range of partners including charities, businesses and statutory bodies - working to ensure local voluntary and community organisations can access the support they need
6. Community Development
We believe in community development, an approach that can create active, resilient and vibrant communities. In Herefordshire thousands of individuals, groups and organisations are involved in improving quality of life. They make an invaluable contribution and community development provides some of tools to make that happen including consultation, project development, fundraising and training for volunteers. Community development is often supported by values such as sustainability, local ownership and involvement.
HVA is a charity and company limited by guarantee. The direction of the organisation is set by a Board of Trustees. HVA works across the whole of Herefordshire except Ledbury and district. We receive support from statutory agencies (including Herefordshire Council) and numerous grant making charitable trusts.
